SA GOVT. ANNOUNCED DECLINE IN KWAZULU-NATAL WATER LEVELS
South Africa weekly dam level report has shown that there is a drop on the water level during the latest check.
According to the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), the water level at KwaZulu-Natal dam levels sit at 54.2% this week, which is a slight drop compared to last week’s 54.9%.
Sadly, the decline is not only at KwaZulu-Natal dam as other dams like Albert-Falls Dam, Hazelmere Dam, Mearns Dam, Spring Grove dam etc continues to experience a week-on-week decline.
The latest development will surely make residents worry as the DWS has encourage residents to use water sparingly.
Meanwhile, DWS is planning to increase water supply, as they have commissioned the construction of a Waste Water Treatment Works, reservoir and bulk pipeline next to the Spring Grove Dam. With the aim targetted at providing more than 30 000 households with potable water.
